I love grandpa...

...and cereal! Elly is finally coming around to the idea of rice cereal. That first spoonful gets her by surprise but after a few tastes, she gobbles it right up. She even finished a whole bowl today! A bowl only consists of about 1/2-1 oz. of milk, but we still consider this a great achievement!

Keep it coming mom...I'm ready!

Forget it...just give me the spoon. How hard can it be?

All strapped in and ready to go!

Before our morning walk, I decided to make the big transition to the big girl stroller! The big one is nice and cushy, but with the "cushyness" comes a hot sweaty baby! It worked like a charm! Usually, about halfway through our walk, Elly would get a little cranky and was ready to head home. We had a nice leisurely walk through the neighborhood without a peep from the little one. She was just taking it all in, with the nice breeze blowing in her long locks ;)

What are we waiting for? Lets get our walk on!

FOUR......

I walked in from work the other day to the cutest picture! Daddy and daughter, snuggled up on the couch watching a little golf! Kris looks forward to the day he and his little "Punkin" can hit the links together. I look forward to the day that she kicks his butt at his favorite pastime!

"Then you take the stick and hit the little, white, round thing..."

Who needs a paci...

Sweet Elly has discovered that when she loses her paci, not to fret...her fingers will do! When she gets sleepy, those first two fingers go straight for her mouth. I think it's funny, seeing that Kris and I were the same way as kiddos. Is finger sucking hereditary? Who knows...but it sure is cute!

Mmmmm...

Well, Kris and I just couldn't wait...we wanted to see how little Elly would do with her first taste of big girl food! I thought for sure she would gobble it right up. I couldn't have been more wrong. She hated it! As soon as Kris would get the spoon to her mouth, she would give it a little taste, spit it right back out and give the funniest, most disgusted face! She actually gagged a couple times! I decided to go round two tonight with the oatmeal instead of the rice. Different cereal...same story. The pictures just didn't do justice to how funny she was. I tried my hardest to get it on video so you all could get the full effect. Trying to feed a wobbly baby while videoing, proved to be a little difficult (and messy), but you get the idea :)

What...is something about to happen?

I'm not too sure about this guys...

Maybe if I pretend to be asleep they will stop!

Try number 2...

Four months...four shots :(

Elly turned the big 04...months! She had her 4 month check-up yesterday, which went as well as expected. She was happy and all smiles...until she flipped her switch! It was almost as though she knew what was coming :( She did great for the first two shots, but by the fourth she was a mess! Big daddy was there with us, and he was almost as upset as poor Elly. All her stats were right there in the normal range. She weighed in at 13lbs. 15 oz. (if only she'd had some bacon with her breakfast...she could have made 14lbs!) and 25 1/4 in. long. I cannot believe how much she is growing! Dr. Shaw told us that we could start her on some rice cereal, but that there is no hurry. It would be more about the sensory than it would be about nutritional value. She said that when we notice her eyeing us, and our food, down at the dinner table to give it a try (I thought that was kinda funny :) ).

Look at me! I'm four months old!

Before... (not quite 2 months)

AFTER!! Can you believe the difference?!

Rolly Polly

In the last day or two, Elly has become quite the fan of the roll! I lay her on her back and within a minute or two she's on her tummy. She's not a huge fan of tummy time, and the belly to back roll isn't quite as polished! She usually ends up stuck and crying for mommy to roll her back over...then it begins all over again! I was able to catch it all on video...please ignore the obnoxious baby talk :)

Listen for the "bye, bye" at the end of this video...as I've mentioned before, she's very advanced :)

Gooooood morning!

I decided yesterday to capture the precious moments I experience when Elly wakes up in the morning and from her naps. She will wake up squawking and crying, but as soon as I look over her crib and tell her "good morning!" this is what I get...

Had to stick this one in :)

I can sit there and talk to her for 10 mins. and she won't take her eyes off me! She talks back, giggles and coo's, all with a precious smile plastered on her face...moments like this trump all the crying, lack of sleep and frustration that comes with having a new baby! Ahhhh...motherhood :)

Happy 4th...

...from the Roebucks and Willing Ave! Every year on the 4th of July, Ryan Place puts on a fabulous parade...think Macy's ;) ok...so I'm being a little snotty. It actually is kinda fun sitting on the front porch and chatting with neighbors that we usually never see. Let me rephrase, neighbors that I never see. Kris knows the ENTIRE neighborhood!

Jimmy Buffet float...it's never too early for a Margarita!

Don't worry, the minivan made it this year

After the Parade, we made our way out to Granbury to hang with the fam. For the 2nd year in a row, Miss Meghan is in town from California to help us celebrate the 4th. Baby Elly sure was excited to meet the cousin she has heard SO much about :) It was a hectic day but full of fun, food and fireworks!

So THAT'S what they're for!

Elly has been working hard on figuring out what those things on the end of her arms are for...other than sucking on, that is! I have been trying desperately to get her to reach and grab for a toy or rattle, which she has had no interest in. I guess she'd had enough of the play mat fairy taunting her...she figured out how to reach and grab her skirt! I think I heard her talking too...

"You're mine now fairy!" (She's very advanced)

Bye, Bye Pottery Barn...

...hello Babies R US! As Kris and I were getting ready to head to bed the other night, he looked around the house and made the comment, "this sure is a babies house!" I couldn't help but laugh and get out the camera. He sure was right! So long Pottery Barn table arrangements, hello bouncer, Bumbo, swing, Jolly Jumper, car seat, stroller, bags, bottles, diapers, burp rags...and sitting on the couch, which you can't see...breast pump! No need to comment...I know it will only get worse as Elly gets older! I think we need a bigger house :)
