Must....get...toy!

It seems like each day, little Elly gets a little bit closer to crawling. She is able to get up on her hands and up on her knees...just not at the same time! We were "playing" in her room the other day when she spotted her toy pony (Kris tells her the real one will be here in a couple weeks). I never knew the joy a stuffed horse could bring to one little girl! After a couple minutes of trying her hardest to get to it, she'd had enough and gave up. Mom had to give it a little nudge in her direction, and the world was right again ;)

Is that my pony I see?

It is, it is!
It's no use...I'll NEVER get it!

Come on mom...help a girl out!

Ahhh, success!

100% BIG girl!

Slap my hands...I completely forgot to post Elly's 6 month picture and stats from the Dr.! I'm a bad mommy :( But...give a little credit, where credit is due. I'm impressed that I'm still into this whole blogging thing. I thought for sure, that this blog would be in the 'half read book graveyard' by now! Oh well...it may be 5 days late, but here she is in all her glory! 1/2 a year glory, that is :)
Our sweet girl is 16 lbs. 3 oz. and 27 in. long. She is in the 90th percentile for length! Hmmm...maybe she will be a volleyball player or even better a goalie, like her mama! Dr. Shaw told us to go ahead and start introducing more foods to her diet and that it is time to introduce her to water. She even said to put it in a sippy cup! I couldn't believe it...my baby is already able to drink from a sippy cup?! We tried out the one we have but she didn't want anything to do with it. Thank goodness Elly's BFF Abby left hers at the house...She loves it! Thanks Abby, we owe you a new sippy cup :)

Lovin' to stick out that tongue!

Looking up to the heavens...or maybe just the ceiling fan.

Try to pry it from my hands...I DARE you!

All dressed up...

...with a TCU tailgate to go to! Elly had a much anticipated visit from one of our favorite people, Sandy Mac! For those of you who don't know, Sandy is my good friend Ali's mom. The first time I really got to meet Sandy was when Ali and I, with our mom's, unknowingly traveled to Ole' Miss to visit the campus on the same weekend. Sandy works for Delta, so of course we were all on the same flight. Flash forward 2 1/2 years and Ali and I were living together, both going to TCU! We have had many laughs, bottles of wine and good times, including a trip to NYC! Elly loves her new TCU dress...and her Sandy Mac :)

Go Horned Frogs! Number 1!

I wonder...will I be a TCU cheerleader or a soccer player?

What a cutie!

With her 6 mo. birthday right around the corner, Elly knows that her next milestone to conqueror, is to sit up all by herself! She is getting close, but still needs those little hands to support herself.

"Look at me! I'm a big girl!"
Cutie girl in a cutie dress! Thanks to Auntie Ali :)

Faaaalllling...
On a side note...mommy slept through the night last night!!!!! This would be the first time in about a year that has happened. Oh the things that bring us joy as we get older :)

WHAT?!

There's more out there than milk and rice cereal?! Tonight we decided to broaden little Elly's horizon's just a little bit more. I know I'm not supposed to introduce fruits and veggies till 6 months but...what's three days ;) With her 6 month b-day coming up on the 16th, I just couldn't wait to try out the yummy summer squash we made, and froze, last month. I think I was a little more excited than she was. I thought for sure that the taste of something new would bring shear joy to her chubby little face. Not so much. She ate it just as she would have, had it been her bland old cereal. Oh well...maybe in the upcoming weeks we can try out avocado (I've been told that's a good first for baby food). If she's anything like her mother, she will drool as her eyes roll back in her head with delight!

Come on now...at least give us a little smile!!!

Fat and...I guess happy

Elly has really started to discover (and LOVE) her voice! Here's a little video after her yummy dinner.

Your eyes are not deceiving you...

...that is a bow in Elly's hair! The itty bitty bows we have, finally stay in Elly's itty bitty amount of hair! I couldn't help but snap a picture of her (and her bow) this morning, while engrossed in Baby Einstein. She will sit for an hour and watch her favorite movie while I do my wifely duties. You know...washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the house. All done barefoot of course :)

Dear Fall,

Mommy and Elly are ready for you!!! Elly and I enjoyed the nice cool morning last week by having our (my) coffee out on the back patio. I still can't get over how much our little girl loves to be outside. She sat there in her bouncer, taking it all in, while I enjoyed my coffee without sweating it all out by the time we went back inside! I cannot wait for cooler weather where we can spend more time outside. My next purchase for Miss Elly...a swing to hang from the tree in the backyard. Kris will just have to deal with the fact that he has to climb his little tush up in that tree to hang it. Every time I mention it, his reply is, "NO WAY! You are just trying to collect on my life insurance!" This is just one of the sacrifices he will have to make for his little "Punkin" :)

Look at those legs! We had to retire all the footed jammies. She is just too long!
